Archcheology
Cultural resources are being lost at an ever increasing rate by development, vandalism, war, and antiquities theft. Archaeology itself is a destructive science as once excavated, a site is lost to study for future generations. Geophysics offers an approach for the rapid, non-destructive exploration and mapping of sites of cultural significance. While geophysical data is indirect information, it is a powerful reconnaissance tool that can be used to direct small area and focused intrusive investigations (i.e. excavations).
