In Poland, we mapped some of the mass graves and outdoor crematoriums at the Sobibor Extermination Camp where an estimated 250,000 Jews were murdered. We also mapped a possible mass grave in the nearby village and work camp of Luta. Mila 18 in Warsaw, where we carried out investigations in 2019, can also be considered as a mass grave as it is here that many of the leaders of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising were killed, with their remains being left in the collapsed command bunker.
